Prior to founding North Castle, Steven was a Managing Director at Accordion, a financial consulting firm that works exclusively in the office of the CFO of private equity owned businesses.  Before Accordion, Steven was a Senior Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at The Swarthmore Group, Inc. managing Investment Grade, ABS, MBS, Treasury, core-plus, and long duration portfolios.  Prior to The Swarthmore Group, he was a Managing Director at Cohen-Esrey Capital Partners, LLC and was responsible for helping to launch a Class-B, multi-family, value add co-investment fund.  Prior to Cohen-Esrey, he was a Principal and Portfolio Manager at Shenkman Capital Management, Inc. in New York City. Steven joined Shenkman in 1996, became a portfolio manager in 2004, and sat on the firm’s Investment Committee for over 20 years. He oversaw the firm’s debt capital markets effort and managed or co-managed multiple Fixed Income portfolios of US high yield and bank loan portfolios for institutional and retail investors for fifteen years. Prior to his promotion to portfolio manager, Mr. Schweitzer was a Vice President and Senior Credit Analyst at Shenkman Capital for eight years. Steven holds an MBA in Finance & Investments from the Zicklin School of Business at Bernard Baruch College and a BA from Binghamton University.
